I want to congratulate you three times for three fabulous decisions you have made (or will make in the near future.)

Having been in the this wonderful industry for almost 30 years I first want to congratulate you for your decision to be a part of the travel business! The retail travel business is exciting, ever changing and fun! While it certainly has its challenges, there is plenty of opportunity to earn substantial income and become extremely successful. Many so-called experts predicted the demise of travel agents after airline commission cuts, suppliers going direct or the online booking boom. However, the best travel agents not only survived these changes, but thrived! Recent articles in major publications have even called attention to the consumers return to travel agents. Professional advice and service is extremely valuable and the consumer will seek it out.

And speaking of professional, may I also congratulate you on your choice of Career Quest to provide the training necessary to be successful in travel. Career Quest offers an exceptional program that will set you apart as a true professional travel agent. There are many paths that lead to the travel business, but those who take the Career Quest path have a significant advantage.

Finally, since I mentioned “paths”, I hope you will see the importance of having a “home” in travel and NACTA is that home. No matter how you operate your business and no mater where your career journey takes you, it is imperative to have a home where you can continually learn, share ideas and have the resources to grow. Through communications, community and exceptional ongoing educational opportunities (online, regionally, internationally and at sea!) NACTA will be a home during your successful travel career.
